Hi, I’m Michael Lawrence, your local walking guide here in Portland.
I started Portland Walkings out of a deep love for my hometown and a passion for sharing its stories. What began as casual strolls with visiting friends grew into full-fledged walking tours — built around history, art, food, and the quirky spirit that makes Portland so unique.
With a background in cultural studies and years spent working in education and storytelling roles, I’ve always loved connecting people to the past and present of the places they’re in. Guiding gives me the perfect chance to blend history with real-life experiences and fun local tips.
